Is the heating oil dyed?

OK, thanks much. I missed the last diesel pump in Maine before crossing into NB from Calais. I have about half a tank (90 gallon tank) now, and will most likely fill up today in NB. That will get me to PEI and back into Nova Scotia, where I'll probably have to top off the tank. Whatever - it is what it is, and fuel costs are a small factor when considering the beauty of this part of Canada.

I brought along an extra grandkid to bond out until age 21 to pay for the fuel.

Gas regulation? What is that?

You might want to check gas prices. All 3 of the maritime provinces have gas regulation.

NB changes on Thursdays.

NS changes on Fridays.

PEI changes on 15th and 1st of month with a few exceptions here and there. For obvious reasons PEI is usually less than the other two.

The ferry is more expensive; however, the road trip is about 160 miles so even with the added cost of the ferry vs the bridge, I'm ahead money-wise, as well as time-wise.
When we travel to Vancouver Island, we avoid the Port Angeles-Victoria route due to potential rough crossings. We take the Sidney-Anacortes route which so far has always been smooth. It doesn't take much for my wife to get very ill. It's for that reason that we haven't planned a trip to Newfoundland.

Well, "smooth" is a subjective thing, but I found it smooth and easy. In case you don't know...you pay only on leaving PEI and the ferry could be a bit more expensive than the bridge, depending on your rig. But if it saves time, it also saves fuel.
