Fort Smith to Phoenix - Backroads in November?

Thanks for the weather warning; may have to head the southern way around after Roswell? Any favorite path from Roswell to Las Cruces?

At 1250 miles total I think we are only looking at 400 - 450 or so a day if spaced well.
