Franklin, NC to Lake Toxaway, Highway 64
Anyone have experience on US 64 from Franklin to Lake Toxaway in the North Carolina mountains? I will be driving a 40 foot DP pulling a Jeep Liberty. Planning this trip in mid September.

Franklin to Highland is the worst segment. Do Not try that part. I did this summer in my 27' Class C. Had to crawl, 0 to 2 mpg, or stop, several times when meeting any kind of a vehicle. Since the road is not straight (it is only made up of curves with no shoulders with rocks hanging over), you WILL meet someone somewhere on it. From Franklin to the Lake you will have to pull over many times to be kind to the drivers behind you.
