Good News on Durango RV Parking

We spent a few hours today scouting and we have found a Hot Springs complex that will accept RV's. We will be bringing a Caravan into it in early February and they should have a larger level area cleared by then. Electricity will be available, at least to maintain battery charge and you will have access to the hot springs. May be at th ehigh end, especially for what is more or less dry camping, but it is a very pleasant spot, WiFi and grass, restaurnat & store, plus its close to the City which is well worth exploring.

24 hour security with security camera's.

The actual entrance is at N 24.052894 W 104.545367

The turnoff the main hwy is at N 24.057097 W 104.533350 (paved)
  • Just got into Durango from Creel and by way of Guachicho. Roads were generally very good. Looked at the Balneario San Juan and decided to stay two nights at the Motel Villas Aragon. Closer to the city. 40 pesos by cab to centro. Lots of biting flies at the BSJ. Would have camped in the parking area instead of on the grass. Owner quoted 450 one night and 200 for 2nd night. MVA at 280,night.
  • Yes but a couple of folks here in Zacetecas said the roads are bad. That is not surprising they are bad all over this year. The Durango Maz highway is also bad especially the first half. Lots of damge in tunnels, etc and one protest blockade. (give then money, its cheaper than the toll at the booth they have closed down) It will take longer than you think to cross it.
  • Yes it is, but you have to locate the owner there. It's not very busy right now so they may let you use the main parking lot. If it does not pan out use the Villas Aragon N 24.030101 W 104.614595 I am there right now. You just have to rent a room
  • It's off Carretera a Cinco de Mayo, just south of the airport and north of Hwy 45 (hwy form Durango to Zacetecas). The turnoff is right beside Puente 5 de Febrero. The entrance to the park is about 2 km down the paved road on the right. Do not miss it, it's impossible to turn around if you do. Balneario San Juan

Price TBD, we are negotiating with him for our Spring Caravan so we will have more info after that.

    BTW no English spoken.
  • Thanks for scouting this out but I would like to see better directions to the entrance for those that do not use a GPS. Also more information about pricing etc. and possibly a picture would be great. Durango is a beautiful city and now the possibility of stopping on the way by in an RV is great.
