- MizzouriExplorerThanks to all respondents. All is appreciated. That's the great thing about this site.
- donhoward49ExplorerI drove it four years ago. About my third trip in my MH, towing. Due to problems on the road it was dark by the time we got on 199.. Really would not want to drive it in darkness but daylight should be no big deal. Watch for the little pull outs to let others past you, then enjoy the redwoods. We stayed just east of Crescent City at Hiouchi Rv..
- Golden_HVACExplorerI don't think they built the tunnel so small as to restrict normal trucks. Normally there is over 15' tall, so that there is space for exhaust gas to escape.
The road is fine, I was on it a few weeks ago, and drove it with my motorhome a few years ago. I used to live 7 miles west of Grants Pass near the Applegate River.

- Pangaea_RonExplorerWe just did that route, and the dangers are over-rated. There are a few tight turns with well scalloped guard rails... and that is where you will probably meet an on-coming logging truck, as we did. The route is beautiful, and well worth the nervousness. We are 12'-9" high, and had no issues with height, the 8'-6" width was probably more of an issue.
Enjoy the trip. - mrhddhExplorerDon't worry about it. Unless you're taller than the average semi-truck, you should not have a problem.
