Personally, I wouldn't want to hit Pennsylvania or north before the middle of May, or later.
If you go to Pennsylvania, there is a lot to see and do. Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant and of course Americas Oldest Brewery, Yuengling.
