I-80 west to Joliet, IL, then I-55 south to Springfield, IL. I-72/US36 west to Hannibal, US61 south to Bowling Green, US54 southwest to Mexico, Kingdom City, Fulton, and on to Jefferson City.
  • We came through there 4 weeks ago, back still sore and need to get the truck re-aligned. Worst stretch of road I can remember.
I will never complain about a South Carolina road again.

  • As you approach each construction zone, there are "I-65 Detour" signs that take you off to US31. If there's heavy traffic, you'll be less frustrated on 31. But at 5AM you shouldn't have a problem. IMO US-31 is a smoother road anyway, although possibly slower.

  • I was through there twice in the last 5 weeks once with a 40 foot travel trailer and once with a 17 foot fishing boat loaded for a weeks worth of house boating gear (read heavy!) UM bad idea! The right lane was terrible! The left was much better. Watch the bounce of the vehicles ahead of you and swerve to the curb when they start bouncing and you can straddle the big stuff. Traffic at that time of day will be just fine.
  • I was thru there 2 weeks ago, mid afternoon, with no big problems.

I-65 south bound must be the worst road I've driven. Pot holes everywhere...:M Got on about Merrillville, IN and drove to KY before getting off. Never again.
