Indianapolis I-465 rush hour
We are just off I-465 at exit 4 on the south side of I-465. We will be leaving during rush hour going to exit 31 U.S. 31 on the north. Is it best to leave going east or west or is it 6 of one or 1/2 dozen of the other?

- I'm not sure it's going to matter. Where you will get into traffic will be up nearing your exit # 31 Meridian Street. If it were me I would go east and if traffic is moving well I would get off on exit 33 Keystone which will go straight north and catch 31 about 3 miles north. If Keystone looks bad just get off at the next exit which is what you planned on doing anyway. That 10 mile north stretch that you will be exiting in the middle of always seems to have some of the heaviest traffic in town.
- Shoot 65 through the city unless there's construction everyone is trying to get out of the city. Only time I got hung up there was a multi car wreck at the south 65 465 interchange.
- Go west, big back log near I 69 and I 465. traffic is a bear. lived there.gets worse every year
- Guess I should be more specific. We are there now and leaving Friday. Is one way slow and one way stop and go. Anyone from Indy? Have enjoyed our visit.
- Not much difference in miles (4), but a big difference in time if you take the west side during the Indy 500 on Memorial Day weekend. Its near the west side. I made that mistake - once. Never again.
- Check where the sun is when you get ready to start.
