- Swampman597ExplorerJust wanted to say Thanks to everyone for your posts. We took 27 from Clewiston and it was a great Florida drive and we only hit traffic around Haines City. An easy route and we'll be using it again in the future.
Mike - KA4EBUExplorerSome traffic, but overall an easy route.
- Swampman597ExplorerSorry you had to put up with it, I've been caught in that too. Just wanted to mention that if you had gotten on the Turnpike (just north of Clermont) and taken it to I-75 and then to Ocala, you'll find it much easier & faster. We'll be going that way too except getting off the TP at CR-470. We use CR-470 usually just for the ease & driveability.

SR-29 is two-lane, not much traffic. US-27 gets into some traffic around Sebring but not really bad; it's fine up to Lake Louisa SP and Clermont. We hit so much traffic and traffic lights on US-27 between Clermont and Ocala we put it on our "do not go" list. - johnhicksExplorerSR-29 is two-lane, not much traffic. - Dutch_12078Explorer IIThanks for the 29 info, guys! It looks like the way to go to stay "off the beaten path" for awhile. We're not in any hurry...
- Dog_FolksExplorerUs29 is not "bad," but it not state of the3 art either. It is very rural, and expect to seen animals crossing the road. It is two lane.
There is a Panther protection zone with reduced speed, that is enforced. There is always a possibility you will see a panther crossing the road so stay alert. That is why you will see 12 foot high chain link fences in some areas.
Citrus harvest is almost over so you won't see many citrus trucks in the area. Just south of LaBelle, there is a citrus processing plant so watch for trucks there. You will see more citrus trucks out on US 29. - djsamuelNomadI live in Clermont and drive 27 every day. Should be an easy drive. There will be some construction once you get north of Haines City heading to Clermont where they are expanding the road to three lanes in each direction, mainly through Davenport. They're doing a good job of keeping the traffic moving.
- LamanExplorerHwy 29 from 41 up to 27 is a very easy route. You will go through only two small towns, Immokalee and Labelle then on to 27. Very flat road, few lights or traffic. It is a heavy ag. area so you might run into citrus haulers and vegetable trucks, but they probably will be going faster than you.:)

Can anyone comment on using 29 to get from 41 to 27?
Have no info to help. We'll be taking 833 up to 27. Looking at the map, it looks like your route will be very similar to ours - straight, flat skinny 2 lane roads with very little traffic. - Dutch_12078Explorer III've been following along, since we'll be driving from Midway NPS Campground on 41 to Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont in a few weeks. Thanks to what I've read here, Hwy 27 sounds like a decent ride, and we'd like to go that way. Can anyone comment on using 29 to get from 41 to 27?
