Time for my annual trip, we usually go East of the Washington DC / Baltimore corridor to and from Cape Cod. This year I'm thinking or a side trip from Lancaster PA.
Sooo, are you going to Cape Cod and coming down? or are you leaving from Lancaster?
I usually go west on 30 to 81 South then East on 77 - 26 to 95 south. I'm thinking of using 15 / 17 south picking it up from Gettysburg on 30 to 64 then East. How are these roads for 34 foot class A with car in tow?
Thank you your input.
Your trying to get to 95 in Florida and I live not far from you. Lancaster on 30 to 81 ---- kinda going out of the way to get to 95. I am going to give you a suggestion that gets you around DC which is what i am assuming you are looking to do.
1. From Lancaster, 83 is your friend. 30 to 83 outs you in Baltimore at 695 and your on GOOOOOD road from that point.
2. 695 toward Glen Burnie and youll get to Exit 4 which should be I97 South ... you will run that into 3/301 and US301 all the way to VA207 which will put you in Carmel Church VA. (There is a Flying J to fill up and I suggest hitting it)
3. At that point you hop on 95 and Hammer down. This is a fool proof way to avoid 95 traffic as we use it all the time. There is a $18 toll on the bridge across the Potomac river into VA but you are gonna burn 5xs the $18.00 in fuel running around 81 to 77 --- 29.
So I understand the concept of 15/17 but its a HUGE waste of fuel when 83 and 695 and 97 are options with 301 in this area. If you were travelling points WEST then your on the ball with those roads.
