Northern Ont to Kamloops: Must See

We're leaving Thunder Bay in late May in our Minnie Winnie and are giving ourselves a month to reach Kamloops. What are the special places we really ought to visit along the way? How far north of the Trans Canada should we venture in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, I mean what would you recommend that deserves driving a few hundred KM? Best parks to see in each of the provinces, good boondocking sites?

Any suggestions for parks close to Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary?

How about a storage yard in Kamloops?

Thanks. We are so looking forward to seeing the prairies by road.

    Omg, so much to say..

    Soany options... Moose jaw for the tunnels, the 16 for the beautiful view of the prairies and riding mountain national park for an amazing sense of what is truly a representation Manitoba pride. What sort if things do you folks like?

    MudChucker: We like outdoorsy things, unusual museums (going to the Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg for sure), chance to hear live music, checking out local food specialties. What's the story on the Moose Jaw tunnels?

    Check the RCMP Academy in Regina for tours. Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is a unique place in the middle of the prairies. Once you get to the mountains you will be kept busy, so much to see and do. The National Parks website is full of information.

    Museum at the forks is nice, there is a campground outaide the city to stay at, and of course my driveway here in Niverville is available if you just need to plug in and top up your water. Winnipeg has a lot of old history to share. Definitely plan on riding mountain. The tunnels in moose jaw date back to Al Capone and the Secret railway, if we had time I could take you to a place where Capones cars are all shot up and an old safe is cut open, very cool.

    In Alberta, Fort McLeod just west of Lethbridge, then Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump. Then down to Pincher Creek to Waterton National Park in southern Alberta. Just booked 2 weeks near there. Frank Slide on the way into BC.
