Oregon Hwy 101

Would like to travel up the Oregon Coast in our 38' motor home with a toad. This will be continuation from Calif 101. Easy route or not?

I live just off 101 if you don't make reservations at the State Parks you will in all probability not get a sight. As stated above these State parks fill up very early. Some times a year in advance is needed and even that is an iffy thing. I know folks that when they leave the park they make reservations for the next year on the way out. There is lots to see and lots of folks travel the coast. So plan ahead keep the speed down and you will have a grand time on the coast. Make sure you stop in at Bandon see the light house and enjoy the local ambiance. Ocean drive is spectacular.

If you are going in the summer..you will need to be happy with left-overs or even nothing without reservations...especially in the State Parks.

We have our favorites and make reservations 9 months in advance for those prime sites. As we travel...we very often see, "Campground Full," signs along the way.

  • Hwy 101 Oregon: We travel and camp it a lot.
Beautiful scenery, lots of quaint small towns, lots of lighthouses, lots of great "one of a kind" restaurants, lots and lots of campgrounds both private and first rate Oregon State Parks. No problem for any size RV.

Overall a fantastic RV destination and experience. Once done, you will want to go back. Have a great trip.
  • Good road, mostly 2 lane, but keep the speed down and enjoy the scenery.
