We live in Silverdale and that's the route I would take going down.

- eichacsjExplorerOur sun lives in Silverdale, WA. Here is the route I prefer, less stressful.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIThe quickest way is to watch the traffic reports and avoid red areas.

Aitplane is quickest
Another 'voice' just wanting to be heard? Why not respond to the OP's question!! - skipsorExplorerThe 5 to the 210 eliminates L.A. entirely. As long as you get to the 210 after 10 am the ride is pretty easy. Traffic going eastbound is pretty light in the morning.
Just stay on the 210 and it will take you right to the 10 and then it's a straight shot to Phoenix.
Going westbound, on your way home, it's lighter in the afternoon but you will run into some slow spots. If you can, try to overnight in Blythe or in the Palm Springs area because by the time you get to the 210 most of the residual traffic will be cleared up. - RCMAN46ExplorerThe last 20 miles may take you as long to travel as the first 1415 miles if you arrive on Super Bowl day.
- Bull_RiderExplorerX3 CA Traveler. We just came that way, traveling from Oregon to San Diego. Much better than I-5 in my opinion.
- JanssExplorer IIx2 CA Traveler.
- CA_TravelerExplorer III5, 210 mid day, 10 is the quickest. Otherwise 5, 58, 395, 15, 215, 10.
