I've done it from Colonial Williamsburg down to Myrtle Beach. I usually go back to I-95 when I'm headed south, but I wanted to drive thru the Great Dismal Swamp. Beautiful drive, but I wouldn't like to do it on foot. Pretty dismal.
A bunch of us guys used to do a MB golf trip every year. MB was a let down as well. Many of the courses (and bars) are gone.
