Here's a tip for taking a cruise out of Seattle unrelated to your question; taxis are cheaper and much more convenient than any of the shuttle services that go to the cruise terminal. We stayed at a hotel downtown and they wanted $15 each for us to take the shuttle the next day. I figured we would just take a cab. We came down the next morning and watched as they packed people in like sardines into the hotel shuttle bus. We grabbed one of the cabs that was lined up and were at the cruise ship probably before the hotel shuttle was even loaded and it was a $10 ride and I gave the guy a $5 tip. Saved $15.
When we got back off the ship we also took a cab all the way back to the airport from the cruise terminal and it was still cheaper than if we had taken the cruise ship bus (that they try and get you to pay for way in advance) and it was much nicer to get dropped right at our airline versus the bus terminal.
And while I'm on to tips, here's another one for your cruise. We did the inside passage cruise. You know at each of the stops they want to sell you over priced tours and bus rides and all the stuff that you do on their schedule and of course we fell for it at all except Ketchikan. At each port I would see minivan taxis that would seat six people and they were offering their services for $60 per hour flat rate. So if you can find two other couples, for $60 each plus a tip, you can get a custom tour for three hours and go where you want and stay or go at each spot on your time table versus the crowded tour bus schedule. You'll pay over $100 per couple for any of the tour bus trips. We traveled with a group so we did the minivan taxi at Ketchikan and it was so much nicer.
