Salmon Arm to Prince George via Yellowhead Pkwy

Just wanted to update everyone....
we stayed in vernon for 2 nights at a passport america park ($20/night) for 30amp fuh..Swan Lake RV Resort. Be careful, as there was a park named Swan Lake Campground that was no where near as nice..the resort was immaculate and right on the lake...great stop!
we decided to skip Salmon arms because we took a ride from vernon in the toad to the campground we thought we'd stay in...Viewpoint RV. well when we saw the approach we decided our 42' coach would not like the steep approach. so we skipped it and went directly to Clearwater to visit Wells Grey PP.
we're at the KOA (nice, wooded but big sites with 50amp fuh) right on the road that leads into the park.
thanks for all the recommendations to the golf and rv resort, but it is 22 miles into the park. since fuel is so dang expensive here and since we get approx 5miles to the gallon, we decided to stay closer to our route.
we'll go into the park tomorrow to view the campground, though.
next stop---prince george...

Thanks everyone. We are in ver on now and it's beautiful. Staying at swan river resort. We will skip salmon arms as the cg we thought we'd go to has a very steep driveway. We saw salmon arms by toad. Thanks for your help.

Cassiar RV Park in Kitwanga also had grassed, full hookup, long (~MH + toad) pull-thru sites last year. Also had decent WiFi, a laundry, and clean showers. It is located a oouple of miles off the Yellowhead Highway and just west of the Cassiar Highway.

I can vouch for Wells Grey golf and campground as we had 30 coaches there for a FMCA rally, lots of room for 45' coach and a few minutes from the main area of the park. You will enjoy and has a fabulous restraunt on site.

If you go to the BC Parks reservation site, & enter in your data (dates, type & length of MH), then it will tell you if you fit. You have to know the name of the park/campground. It looks like there are some spots that would work for you, with pictures even! Happy Camping...

Wells Gray Golf Resort & RV Park has hookups and can accommodate your rig. Is about 30 min drive into the park. Not sure of rates but should be vacancies this early in the season. Be sure to allow a few days in the park. It is breathtaking scenery.

Most of the parks in Wells Gray were still no hookups when we were last there, really nice provincial park on the south side of Clearwater but again no hookups if this is what you are after. Out of curiosity where are you staying in Salmon Arm?

I appear to be a couple days ahead of you. Did Jasper to Vanderhoof yesterday & on to Smithers today. On to Mezaidin Lake PP for a couple nights tomorrow.

What are you looking for in a campground? The PP sites will accommodate your rig but services are basic, no hook ups, although there is s nice KOA at Clearwater. Valemount has some good cg's and the scenery will knock your socks off.

We feel the same way about the Okanagan. About the best meal we had on our Alaska trip last summer was at Quail's Gate Winery in West Kelowna and we loved the views from their terrace too.

The Okanagan is definitely on our "must return" short-list now!
