- Tee_JayExplorerOur Sirius works very well as far as Haines Junction, and sort of well almost to the border going north. Going south I usually get spotty service around Gunsight Mtn on the Glenn Hwy and it gets better the closer we get to Tok, and from Tok on it is fine. The antenna is mounted to the rear of the truck cab, so the 5th is blocking it a bit going north but not south.
- sue_tExplorerWait until they see a moose, or bear, or sheep, or bison...
All of our dogs get very chatty then! Maybe yours will want out to try some herding? - colliehaulerExplorer III

SueT. The Collies aren't very chatty.
We're usually too busy enjoying the sights and chatting with each other about what we're seeing to listen to anything. - colliehaulerExplorer IIIThanks for the response. Sounds like I need to take some CD's.

- VeebyesExplorer IISimple answer is, don't count on it. Take plenty of your own tunes in the format of your choice.
Thanks for the reminder. Need to get mine together this week. - EsoxLuciusExplorerI'm suspending my SiriusXM during my trip. I have my entire CD collection on an iPod Classic which I can plug into the RV head unit or toad radio.
- joe_b_Explorer III have the antenna mounted on the roof of our RV. In 2011, our last trip, we had satellite radio in Fort Nelson at the 3 G Campground but couldn't get a signal at the Downtown RV Park in Watson Lake Later tried it in Alaska, and as Trackrig said, it was hit and miss depending on the terrain of the area.
I suspect the sesativity of your satellite receiver in your vehicle could have something to do with it also. - RangerJayExplorerWe have our antenna mounted on the dash and I think that was a factor in poor reception the farther north we got - I wondered whether a roof mount would have been better - think we ended up turning it off somewhere in northern BC.
Jay - TrackrigExplorer IIIt depends on where the mountains are in between you and the satellites. The further north you get, the lower on the horizon the equator satellites will be and the mountains will cause more interference. For best results your antenna will have to be mounted on top of the MH. Driving, you loose signal the further north you drive as you drop down in valleys or behind mountains. You might be able to pick you camping places to get signal.
