I strongly suggest that you look up the tolls for NYST. DW has family in the Albany area.
If you don't have the transponder, it seems they don't want you there and therefore bill you accordingly. We have a old coach that they count as 3 axle (it isn't but the discussion is useless) and so rip us for that. The tolls for us to run the length used to be more than the cost of the fuel we burn. But, we haven't done that accounting recently. They caused the habit.
