I have never RVd in Alaska, but have spent a lot of time there over the years. I think I can safely say that there are NO RV parks in Alaska that compare to even the poorest in the lower 48.
Having said that, RVing in Alaska would be a great adventure, but don't expect too much in the way of decent camping areas. Be prepared to "rough it".
A truly beautiful area of the world.
Really?!!!!
A global statement like this, especially from one who admits to never having RVd in Alaska, shows how little one knows. If you don't know anything about it then don't say anything. There are some real trashy places in the lower 48.
Now, we HAVE taken our RV to Alaska and quite a few of the RV parks don't offer much more than a place to park and spent the night with utility hook-ups. There are a few gems along with the clunkers. We stayed at the Golden Nugget in Anchorage and it was adequate. Very convenient being right across the street from Costco for restocking.

I didn't realize that we were talking "shopping" in Alaska. I have spent many, many weeks in Alaska over the years, and while beautiful nature-wise, the state is pretty much a junk yard.
