Obviously one must obey the laws of the foreign country we enter, even in passing.
If you plan on going hunting, might be better to mail your weapon(s) to either (a) a friend in Alaska, or a FFL/Gunshop. They can hold it for you upon arrival.
US law allows you to mail a firearm to your self, at another address (ie friends address). By law friend cannot open up package. Has to be opened by you.
