Slow down Floridastorm. No one is condescending to you-they are merely expressing a difference of opinion. No one is disputing the fact that bad things happen just merely expressing concern if you will that some start out with that "I've got a gun and I'm not afraid to use it" chip on their shoulder. Take those studies with a BIG grain of salt. I am a long time gun owner, instructor, life member of the NRA and long-time political activist. Because someone doesn't feel the need to be armed 7x24 doesn't mean they have their head buried in the sand. It just means they don't leave the house expecting to be mugged on every corner. You'd do well to take a step back and breathe. The aggressive attitude is part of why so many honest gun owners have a bad rap. The OP asked for opinions. We all have them and they all stink the same.
