During our two driving trips to Alaska I had the habit of waving to on-coming rv's as we traveled the Alaska Highway. The on-coming drivers very, very seldom waved back. When a driver failed to return my wave I developed the technique of turning my waving hand and waving at myself. My CEO/Navigator thought it was funny for a while, but then ordered me to "knock it off."

Actually, I love to wave, but usually it is hard to see the driver until you are getting pretty close. At that point, I am making sure I am making sure we are going to miss him(or her). I try to wave if someone is passing me, but again, when they are close enough to see me, most are watching the road.

I like it.
I have noticed the same thing. Many RVers don't wave back.
Maybe I'll start waving to myself.

Truth is most are not comfortable driving the RV / TV to let go with one hand, and wave with the other.

With the correct setup. You would not have that problem

I most reliably get a wave from other painted Class A MHs.

I'll try waving to myself to see if my wife/navigator is awake. I don't think that she can reach across to whack me while she's still belted-in?

When we went to Alaska my navigator developed a different hand signal for each animal type we saw on the animal crossing signs. Seems a long stretch of road affects each of us differently.

Crowe, the rest of that song goes " We're having fun, sitting in the back seat kissin and a huggin with Fred."

I wave at other RVs, and vans.

I also wave at bicyclists when I am in my van -- as support and to let them know I see them -- and try to restrain myself from waving at people with the same model van as mine when I am on my bike. I have to remind myself, 'Naio, they don't know why you are waving.' But I want to wave!

I prefer to lay on the horn when I'm driving by people on the street, they tend to wave one finger at me! Just kidding....;)
