'6 ft of snow' where exactly? It makes a big difference whether they are talking about Anchorage, Fairbanks, or the high peaks of the Brooks Range. I don't see anything unusual in the NOAA forecasts for Alaska.

This weekend's snow in Fairbanks area was earlier than average (Oct 10) but not unusual. Still some question of whether it will stick.
