What is the condition of 99 in CA?
We drove it from around Bakersfield north to Yosemite area and it was horrible! We're headed to Oregon from Las Vegas this year and there appear to be more campgrounds along there than I-5 north of Bakersfield.

- It's still undergoing major reconstruction in the Visalia/Tulare/Kingsburg area and then again in the Stockton area. Where it's 3 lanes per side, it's fine; otherwise it's still narrow for those used to Interstate-type roadways. So, in total, it's still a challenge. By the way, 99 carries more traffic than I-5 and 101 combined through the same area, and much of that is trucks.
