would like to know the best route from toronto to orlando?

Well we made it to Florida and back. It was a great trip. We had come across some black ice just outside Detroit. There were a quite a few car in the ditch. I just put the truck in 4 wheel drive and slowed down to about 15kph, same speed as most of the vehicles on the road. We had left about 3:00pm and made to Bluffton KOA around 11:00pm (had to stop at the duty free for booze) She was pretty cold in the trailer. I didn't realize how long it would take to warm up the trailer, but I personally love sleep when it is cold.
My wife and I loved the book AlongI75. It was so handy to use, knowing where you are, and giving easy reference on where you want to go and how long it would take.
Our next lay over was Cordele GA at another KOA just off the highway. I stop there because I wanted to be within 5 hours of Disney our Final destination.
For our trip home we left Orlando 9:00 am and headed to Nashville for New Years. We camped at the Jellystone park in Nashville. They had this Dancing light of Christmas going on when we were there. If you get a chance go and see it. It was really well put together.
It was a 15 hour drive home from the park. No issues coming home. It was a beautiful drive.

see if your library has an old copy of Along the I75. It used to have a profile of the route so you could see the elevation and get an idea of the length of the grades.
The significant grades that come to mind are Tennessee and climbing out of Cincinatti southbound, short but steep.
Last time we were at Harbortown the washrooms were open. (several years ago)
Do not expect water or sewer north of Kentucky; possibly not north of Tennessee depending on weather.

Good plan - just realize there is no water available. We travel with a couple of jugs of water and some disposable glasses, plates etc. Also there is no food available at that exit.

We have stayed in blufton. Cash! Honour system. Washrooms are closed. Electric only. All u need. Easy off I 75. Good for an overnight. No reason to unhook.
If u don't make it that far. Harbourtown south of Detroit is open all year. No washrooms. Good backup plan if the weather is bad.

Unless you've winter camped in that RV previously and know for a fact the way it performs you should be at least concerned if not worried.

A typical deep cycle RV battery will only have ~60% of its capacity at 0 C. compared to 20 C.

I would be very surprised if you were able to drive to anywhere the temperature was anything close to 0 overnight.

Bear in mind that power hungry furnace has to warm a very cold trailer before it can even get to the point of merely keeping it warm

I've travelled with my own TT previously, and numerous other tagging along with us on that same trip many times. The ones who made it the entire night with heat on were definitely a small percentage of the total. In fact in several cases we had to boost vehicles that had run the TV battery dead also.

Having grown up in Detroit and making annual trips to visit grandparents in Hernando County, then living in Orlando and driving back home to family in Detroit, my recommended for getting to Orlando is I-75.

I-75 crosses Kentucky at elevations comparable to those in northern Ohio, it is just that there are valleys to cross in Kentucky so the road is not so flat. But it is not really different than the road from Louisville to Nashville. From Tennessee state line to Knoxville I-75 crosses a few low ridges then runs in a valley down to East Ridge (east of Chattanooga) which is the only place were you'll find some longer 6% grades, a few miles rather than a half mile or so.

You can go through Nashville, but the terrain to Knoxville and to Nashville are pretty much the same whether you go through southern Indiana or southern Ohio and Kentucky. From Nashville, I-65 doesn't go to Orlando, so you would be taking I-24 to Chattanooga, and that crosses more ridges than I-75 coming from Knoxville.

You can totally avoid significant hilly terrain by taking I-75 down to I-80/90, then I-80 to I-55 coming out of Chicago (Illinois flatlands to Mississippi River valley), then I-12/I-10 across the Gulf coastal plain. Don't take I-94 across Michigan, because that's going to have some hills crossing glacial features in SW Michigan that are just as formidable as what you encounter crossing southern Ohio or Southern Indiana and the valleys in Kentucky.

I am all for having options. I have driven with the trailer all thru the mountains of the north east and they are beautiful in the summer, but I would never consider doing it in the winter. I77/I95 is probably your best alternative if you want to make decent time and the drive thru WV is amazing. However, there are not as many stops for gas and food, and fewer campgrounds especially in WV. The grades are a lot steeper and longer in WV and you will be mountain driving almost as soon as you cross into PA from NY almost to Charlotte NC, that is almost half of the drive. All you need is one bad stretch of snow and you could loose 4 hours due to traffic, have to stay over in a Walmart for an extra day waiting for the weather to pass or end up down the side of a mountain.
The I75 route only has about 2 hours of mountain driving in between Lexington and Knoxville. It feels like I75 has an exit with food and gas every 15 minutes. Just my 2 cents...
