Maybe force of habit, but from Rochester we take I-90, I-81 at Syracuse, Rt 342 to Rt 3. Then the 3A bypass back to Rt 3, then Rt 86 to North Pole. If you go this route be forewarned - the speed limit in Harrisville is vigorously enforced.
