You were towing another vehicle? Most likely, the vehicle you were driving was in the intersection, but the vehicle you towed was not. The ticket is for the vehicle in tow.
Sorry this happened to you. But I bet in the future, you'll leave your distance between you and the vehicle in front of you until you are sure you see the light. I always do this, driving anything! Got a ticket in 1984 in Tennessee because I followed a Semi too close and couldn't see around him. He made it through, but because I was behind, I technically did not.
That's when I learned to wait until I see the light. Always assume it's red. Better to stop on a green, and make the car behind you mad, then proceed and find out it's really red and end up with a $60 ticket!
