Here in Texas your vehicle must exit the intersection before red. The sad part is if I was doing the speed limit I would have made it but the road was bumpy there so I slowed down not to bounce the TT.
I drove back down there for the first arraignment with every intent on fighting it. I would have to go back two more times before I had my day in court to fight it in a trial by jury. I realized the time off of work and gas wasn't worth it so I paid the fine of $140, court fee of $50 and on-line defensive driving for $30.
It was revenue generation for them, plain and simple. My only way to beat it was to convince a jury of it or hope the judge would drop the case because it would cost them more $$ to try me than what they would make off of it.
I decided on defensive driving and never come back. That was my route going to Goose Island, Rockport, Mustang Island, Padre Island etc. Now I take 59.
OP, sorry to go off topic, call them and discuss it with them.
But after reviewing the video, you are way so guilty! The truck in front of you ran the red and there were no cars behind you. Your only plea is being Canadian and financial hardship. Oh, and nice rig :)
