Beach Camping in the East

We are just finishing up a trip that included a couple of days on the beach at Galveston Island State Park. We absolutely loved camping on the beach. I'm looking into options for next year and wonder what your favorite spots are on the East coast. We're looking somewhere as far North as Maryland and as far South as NC. In a perfect scenario we would be able to see the ocean from our camper. We couldn't in TX but we walked about 150 ft to the beach.

    Double ditto. There's a great deal of dune damage in SC from Matthew according to the news. I recommend waiting several months before planning to see which cgs reopen and which have gone out of business because of the hurricane.

    Well, Myrtle Beach is just a stones throw south of NC. Good roads in and out.

    Several CG in Myrtle Beach, SC are ocean front. Sites just over the dunes. Well there were dunes. Gotta wait and see if Matthew washed them away.
