At just under 36' LOA there are quite a few that we can just fit. There are a couple, most likely listed for smaller that a 40'er could fit, provided you don't mind hanging beyond the official site & unable to use stabilizers.
Oh well...worth a suggestion. Have fun at Dover. We have a few bluegrass festivals, a Scottish Highlands Games, an Irish Festival & the Norfolk Tattoo lined up this summer finishing off with a few days at Killens.
Can't wait to get moving. - DelawareCamperExplorercan't fit into Killens,, we're just over 40 ft,,
- VeebyesExplorer IIHave fun. I'll bet it will be an experience that you will either want to do again or say "Never again".
Bluegrass festival fan here but have done one big one, Grey Fox, in upstate NY. That one had something like a 30,000 attendance. Camping out in a hayfield. Walk to the main stage took 20 minutes.
Been there, done that. Never again. You are jammed in like sardines. Everyone uses up to their last inch of allocated space.
For Dover you might take a look at Killens Pond SP about 20 min S. A really nice CG & an oasis of sanity away from the festival. - DelawareCamperExplorerwe are going to Big Barrel,, so far there are 3 units going,, 2 in 50 amp and 1 in 30 amp... cant wait

Funny you mention that gcloss, I gave Dover a thought for a minute, and then remembered pictures I saw of Taste of Country which I wanted to go but changed my mind last minute. I guess I'm getting too old for that scene also, not what I prefer with the wife and family. Been thinking of Nashville myself. How long is the ride from NY?
Security is the main reason for giving up on Taste of Country, far too many drunken underage kids fighting and causing problems. The second reason is the cost is out of sight.
While I live on Long Island I keep my TT in Gardiner NY. We will be leaving for Nashville from Gardiner heading down the NYS Thruway to I-287 then I-78 out to I-81 to I-40 straight through to Nashville. Google maps tells me it is about 925 miles one-way from Gardiner. We plan on 2-3 day out to Nashville.
On the way back we have reservations in Pigeon Forge area for 5 days. I figure 1 day to Pigeon Forge and then 1-2 days from Pigeon Forge back to Gardiner.
We have been talking about doing this also...fill us in once you return ,, the good..bad..ugly.. Of the camping- gclossExplorer

- gclossExplorerI've camped at music festivals with my RV. Been there and done that. Like ford truck guy said, I'm getting old as well.
We went to Taste of Country Music Festival in upstate NY. We camped right on top of the next which was ok, but the lack of real security was the biggest problem for me and my family. The problems were not people with RVs, it was tent camping teenagers, drunk and running throughout the RVs, fighting, stealing and urinating on RVs. Got so bad we (RV owners) had to call in the local Sheriff's Department because the festival security was useless.
This year instead of the Taste of Country, we are headed to Nashville for CMA Fest staying in Nashville KOA.
