The lady from the .com website was rude to us back at the beginning of the year. Someone on here recommended the .net people. They were much friendlier. Although we didn't end up going (wife's job change and accident for me).

The biggest difference i see at this point is the .com will not allow us to make a reservation until after feb 2016. for sept 2016. .net site will take our reservations now. but they must have many of there sites up for sale and told us if they sale between now and then they could not promise us we would get a bay site. and they dont have many to begin with. the other thing is sites to accommodate 5th wheels, most sites have facilities arranges so you cann pull your motorhomes staright in.

When we went ,there were only a few water sites that would hold a fifth wheel...

What the lady at .com told us was that they couldn't make reservation until March (for a July trip). She said that was the time frame that the owners have to get their list of stays in. She also said that it was around that time when the committee would decide on the rates for that year. Even when you could see rates on the website for that summer. We didn't feel comfortable making reservations with an unknown amount.

Read their cancellation policies also. From their website:

Winter reservations (October 15 – April 30) require a 30 day notice of cancellation for a refund of your deposit, less a $30 non-refundable cancellation fee, date changes must also be made prior to 30 days of the start of stay. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the start of your stay, you will lose your deposit and could be responsible for your entire stay if we are unable to re-rent the site. Summer reservations (May 1 – October 14) require a 7 day notice of cancellation prior to the start of your stay in order to get a refund of your deposit, less a $30 non-refundable cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to your stay, you lose your deposit.

Minimum Stay: Advance winter reservations (more than 30 days out) require a 5 night minimum stay. No minimum stay is required during our summer season, with the exception of certain holidays.

Go big---or stay home!

Just FYI, we recently received our invoice from the .net folks for our upcoming Christmas stay, and the price is within a very few dollars of what is was two years ago.

I just reserved a space for xmas also--- been there the last 2 years.

The lady from the .com told me that it goes up every year. She says you can expect 10% increase. But I don't that is true. Just repeating what was told to me from her. No matter what the truth is, we probably won't stay there. We are sure it's beautiful, but beauty on the outside doesn't cover the ugly on the inside.

Such decisions to make, we want to make our reservations early so we dont get locked out. but .net only have a few bay front sites for back in 5th wheels, and .com will not take reservations untill March 2016, what to do
