Just park for a couple days in the 1600 block of Pennsylvania Ave., no one will notice. :B
You want to boondock but, don't want ticks in the area? I think your best bet is find the closest CG.
I wouldn't even consider overnighting at a Walmart, etc., in the DC area.
There is a lot to see in Washington. Enjoy.
