California- San Diego and up. cheap/boondocking places

There are some (relatively cheap) oceanside roughcamping areas on Hwy 1 north of Fort Bragg. Decent access, no amenities, first come first served, and as I recall about $25.00 a night.

Wouldn't call it camping but we overnighted at the Bear River casino just south of Eureka last year.
