Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but boondocking opportunities along or near the coast don't exsist. Walmarts, casinos and rest stops on 5 for the most part are allowed for overnighters also down by Oceanside harbor you can stay for up to 72 hours but no camping allowed, you must do it stealthy not putting out chairs awnings or running gennys and if you do you will be visited by a number of overnighters asking you to not spoil it for others. On the west side of oceanside harbor you can stay overnight for $20, no hook ups but absolutely beautiful. During summer this spot is generally full. Good luck and let us know it goes.
