Campground near Lafayette Louisiana

Looking for a campground near Lafayette to enjoy the bayou and some Cajun food. Usually stay in state parks but don't have to. Also would like to be on water or at last water views. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  • If you like to fish check out Poche's RV Park in Breaux Bridge. They also have a market there with one of the best cajun plate lunches I've had.
  • I'll second Poche's - nice setting on fishing canals. And the Zydeco Breakfast in Breaux Bridge is not to be missed!
  • Another Poches vote. Have stayed many times. Not sure about canals but most sites back up on large fishing ponds.

    We love the area.

Eat at Prejeans. Tour the Tabasco factory and Konriko factory.

    Drive around a lot.
  • Got friends who have stayed at and rave about Cajun Palms in Breaux Bridge. Huge resort and many amenities.

Try RV Park reviews. Free to join although you may not have to do so to see the huge list of parks and travelers reviews.

I have stayed at Maxie's Campground a couple times.
For a different experience, try Betty's RV Park in Abbyville,

We had an enjoyable stay at Betty's last March. Met some nice people, and they have a get together every evening at 4:30 so you can get better acquainted and compare notes.

Abbyville is the county seat, so it has plenty of restaurants and stores, plus it is a nice little town.
