Campgrounds San Francisco Area

Having difficulty locating a CG in the Bay Area. Any recommendations?

  • I'm going to X2 the KOA in Petaluma for your 45'. There is a rv park right where the highway from eastsound intersects with 101,but it is a bit tight.
  • With your 45' motorhome we'd recommend Napa Valley Expo and driving to the Larkspur Ferry and taking it to Fisherman's Wharf. It's reasonable cost and a pleasant ride.

We did the above and then pre-arranged with a small tour van for an all day tour of the city. Even our daughter, who lives there, was very impressed with the tour. It makes for easy siteseeing.

Looks like a nice park, however, they have some water issues right now. All showers closed and no water to fill tanks, etc. They recommend taking your own drinking water until leaks in their main lines are found and repaired.

The Larkspur ferry is a great way to get into and out of the city... Goes right past Alcatraz on the way. There are drinks available on-board. Great relaxing way to commute. Beats driving, IMHO.

  • San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica, pricy, but very nice. Very close to the city. We could see whales off the coast from our site. Rental car delivery as well if needed.
  • KOA is nice we were just there

We took ferry to city several times from Larkspur, the campground recommended a nice doggy day care place that we used.
  • you don't have many choices. most are outside the City.
Candlestick RV park is the only one in the City limits but it's a dangerous area.
SF RV Park in Pacifica is next closest but it's just a parking lot.

KOA in Petaluma is usually the most recommended.

Pleasanton has a RV park in the Fairgrounds.

there's a couple places in Napa, right in Wine Country.
