Camping in Massachusetts

We stayed at Pinewood Lodge in Plymouth. I understand it gets crowded during the summer, but we were there the weekend after Labor Day and it was pretty sparsely populated. The site we were in was huge. We were having a problem with our propane feed, and the staff was very helpful diagnosing the solution. We would stay there again.

Wow got a reservation at normandy farms, it usually is booked a year in advance.
Your are close within 5miles of gillett Stadium and patriot place(shopping) they have a train their but unsure of the schedule. Boston is not far as you can go 95north and it splits go left to 95north/128 or go right to 93 south where 5/8miles up it splits again and you would bare left follow to boston. But the best way is to take 95n/128n to mass pike 90east, in my opinion.
Campgrounds there is a CG in littleton(minute man Cg) i heard was ok. You could spend sometime learning about the shot heard round the world. Or travel down rt2 to alewife T station (arlington, back in the revolutionary day called Menotomy)and take the subway in to boston. take the duck tour and the aquirium. Plenty of shopping and history the north end is an easy walk from the aquiruim. There is parking at the aquirium but it 415 or $20bucks. If you want a real rural cg pineacres in barre/oakham mass closer to worcester but really out in the woods I like it has pool resturaunt, pond. sites are good size. boston is over an hour away. (forgive my spelling and grammer doing this at work lol)

Peters Pond has changed ownership and management. It's very different than it was a few years ago. We camped there for years, through the good and the bad and never had an issue with the seasonals.

You cannot walk to the train station from Normandy Farms. Closest station is in Foxboro center, approximately 5 miles. The train station @ Gillette Stadium only gets used when there are stadium events going on.

KOA Boston (actually in Middleboro) is another option, but you need to choose sites carefully.

Normandy isn't always booked a year in advanced. During off peak, you can get sites, although not preferred sites.

Normandy is pretty far from Boston. Closest commuter rail would be Mansfield. Gillette stadium station is just used during events, and is on a 10mph freight line.

Scussett Beach is a nice place if you don't mind not having a sewer connection. W/E sites only.

We've stayed at Atlantic Oaks in Eastham on the Cape. This was after Labor day a couple years ago. It was quite and we enjoyed our stay.

We've stayed a couple of times at Bourne Scenic Canal, and really liked the location, with the bike path that follows the canal. Heading back there in a few weeks for our God Daughter's wedding, as a matter of fact. Water, Electric, and grey-water sewer (no black except at dump station). Used to be the electrical wouldn't handle air conditioners, but it's been updated in the past year or two so we will be able to run our air... at least in the "P" section. Great location to tour around the Cape, and it's a reasonable drive to grab a train into Boston, which we also like to do. Works well for us.

Our favorite MA campground is Bayview in Bourne, just over the Bourne Bridge. Nice Cape feel about it. We like Normandy Farms as well. Boston Minuteman Campground in Littleton is nice, extremely neat and clean. A couple miles to the commuter rails to get to Boston.

Minuteman in Littleton is our first choice. Fantastic owners and office staff is great with information regarding touring the area.
