Camping near Daytona Beach?

Dropping the kids off with family in DeLand this March and the wife and I looking for three days at a good, clean campground with full hook up as close to the beach as we can get, probably in the Daytona area. Any recommendations? We have never camped in the area? Thanks. Larry
  • Daytona has nothing on the ocean. Try Gamble Rogers and or Beverly Beach which are both on A1A North of Daytona.

Blue springs state park is just south of Deland in Orange city. Nice spring run and nice biking trail just outside the park.
  • What dates in March? Watch out for Bike Week and Speedweeks.
Gamble Rogers is extremely hard to get reservations in.
Beverly Camptown is on the ocean but $100+/nite.
Bulow RV resort near Flagler Beach is nice. Three miles away from the beach and affordable. Ormond Beach Coral Sands Motel has a few oceanfront RV spots but hard to get in. $100/nite. I agree Blue Springs is nice. Probably booked for March.
You are coming at a peak time.
  • We plan to camp 17, 18 and 19. The wife has her heart set on the beach. We don't get to the ocean very often. Thanks. Larry
  • Race weeks and Bike week will be over by then. You may be contending with spring break.
  • Then Beverly Beach Camptown is probably your only shot. There are very few campsites on the ocean. You might want to consider a motel. That's how we do the beach. I won't put my DP in the salt.
  • Tomoka state park a bit north or Jetty Park a bit south.

If you don't mind a bit further north, check out North Beach Resort in St. Augustine.
  • Ended up getting a good ocean view site at Beverly Beach Camptown RV Resort. If the campground is half as nice as the lady who answered the phone it will be a great trip. Thank you all for the input and help. Larry
  • Been to Beverly dozens of times in the past, pre-DP days.
It is on a sew wall directly on the ocean. The spaces are small but you can sit behind your RV and stare at the ocean. Common to see Dolphins, bait fish, sharks, etc. they keep it maintained but few trees, all sand, which is fine.
It's about being right on the ocean. Great fun restaurants in Flagler Beach and St. augustine is a short and beautiful drive on A1A.
