- camperforlifeExplorerI know a lot of people are anti-KOA but the Dayton KOA is one of the best in the country. Here is the direct KOA link.
- rbtgloveExplorerIf you have military ID the WPAFB has a good Famcamp only a few miles from the Museum. Cowan Lake, Caesar Creek and John Bryan State Parks are good and about 30 minute drives from the Museum. So is Buck Creek State Park but I don't recommend it.

An experience at that KOA was the beginning of a 5 year boycott of KOA nationwide for us. We have only recently been using KOAs from time to time again. - michigansandzilExplorerWe stayed at the Dayton KOA in April to visit the museum. The campground was fine, a normal KOA experience for us. I believe this is the closest campground to the air force museum. It was easy and quick to get to the expressway and then the museum.
I would recommend it and stay there again if we were to visit the area. - Joyce_in_NYExplorerTomorrow's Stars is a bit outside Dayton, but very nice. The prices are very reasonable and it is well kept.
http://aarvparks.com/tomorrows-stars/ - rbtgloveExplorerThe State Parks I mentioned are east side of Dayotn the KOA is in Brookville/Englewood west of town. Personnally think going from the east is easier. We live only a couple of miles from the Museum and have for 30 years. The only campgrounds really close to the Museum are primarily full time but may rent for a shorter time if they have the room. One in Enon is one but I wouldn't recommend it. There is one im Fairborn close to WPAFB we stayed in when we moved here but don't know if they still do short stays. Think the choice is one of the State Parks or the KOA, pretty much a toss-up.
- Matt_ColieExplorer IIIf you are an FMCA member, there is the free FHU down in SE Cinci. It may be a little far, but you can't beat the price.
We use it a lot when we are going south.
Matt - jnharleyExplorerTomorrow's Star is located in South Charleston, OH. It is an adequate, reasonably priced campground. We have stayed there several times.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerI've been there more than once. The museum itself is a huge circular building, and the displays start at the dawn of manned flight and go all the way to the present day. Its a great museum, but wear comfortable shoes. There are places to sit down, but they are sets of four chairs attached to each other. Couples tend to sit in seats 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.
I'm not proud. If my feet hurt, I sit between them. Then THEY move. I'm an extra large. :) - Rangerman40ExplorerThe KOA is probably your best bet followed by Caesars Creek SP. South Charleston is too far away, and the one in Enon is kinda trashy. John Bryan SP could be fun because of its proximity to Yellow Springs, Glen Helen, Young's Jersey Dairy and the Clifton Mill. There are a couple of interesting things to do Downtown, but you just have to watch where you are because it goes from decent to ghetto real quick.
