Charlotte NC area campgrounds
My wife wants to attend a quilt show in Charlotte NC at the end of July. What would be a good campground for us to stay in so she can go and I can hang around and not go!:) I know I can do a google se...

We stayed one night last June at McDowell Nature Preserve campground on the SE side of Charlotte metro. I don't remember much about it, fairly easy to get to, large enough for our 30' FW,clean bath/restroom. I think it is run by the county of Mecklenburg.
We drove through McDowell a couple months ago as it had bean years since we last did not very many water/electric sites and all of them appeared to be unlevel. Also to note, they lock the gate at night (sunset).
