My favorite in the area is Ebenezer Park, in Rock Hill, SC. Exit 82 C, toward York, Hwy 161/Celanese Rd.. About 5 miles off the big road, the county park offers spacious sites, FHUs in a gated campground on Lake Wylie. Restrooms are reasonably clean and WiFi works throughout most of the park. No reservation... first come, first served.
My second choice in the area is McDowell Nature Preserve 15222 York Road
Charlotte, NC., another county park w/W&E. There's a KOA at exit 88 in S.C. for their fans. Easy on and off the Interstate.
