If you're looking for State Parks near Cleveland

I am leaving tomorrow for that area... We are staying at the Streetsboro Ohio KOA . . . it looks to be 30/40 minutes from downtown ??

I am going for work , not sightseeing . . BUT , will probably be able to squeeze in a quick trip to the hall of fame.

Check rvparkreviews.com - there will be a listing of campground for cleveland with reviews. On the left it will also show you cities around cleveland with campgrounds and the distance. You should be able to find several.

How far are you willing to drive? If you would drive 50 miles this is a beautiful state park:

Punderson is about 30 and it is also great

If you fish don't miss going to Pt Clinton near Toldeo and getting on a Head Boat for Walleye.

I would also suggest you spend some time at East Harbor state park it is close to the ferries to the islands.

Enjoy yourselves there is a cheese store at Pt Clinton if you like cheese they have it

Streetsboro KOA about 6 miles from me.

but I would like to ADD... if going to Downtown Cleveland..

DO NOT try before 9:30 am... any day.. Period.

Thanks.... will be arriving into the area mid afternoon tomorrow... Going to Berea Wednesday ( the office ) , then leaving Wednesday after work for Toledo for the night.. then onto Elkhart for some scheduled upgrades . . .

Streetsboro KOA is a nice campground. We've stayed there quite a few times when our son was at Kent State. If you are looking for other stuff do do, consider riding along the Cuyahoga River in the park. The park system along the Cuyahoga is very scenic and just fun to explore.

The Cleveland Art Museum and the Cleveland Botanical Gardens are real gems also.

Another camping possibility is Punderson State Park, which is east of Cleveland. The commute time from the park to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame may be a bit longer, but I'm not sure.

x2 on Geneva SP and Streetsboro KOA. (We preferred the former.)

Our son is at school in Cleveland. We use the Streetsboro KOA. Some of the sites below the office/pool area can get real soggy if you get a hard rain, otherwise it's a nice place and well run, even if it's not all that close to Cleveland.

If you are looking for a state park near Toledo on the way to Indiana, Harrison lake state park might be a good stop. Sites are large and easy to access.
