Disneyworld rant

Right there with ya. We live about 45 minutes away, and I can't remember the last time we went to Disney and hadn't camped there since the 90s. We decided to go to Ft. Wilderness this past August for 3 nights. Won't be going back...as you said - crowded, expensive, and nothing special. I will give them that check-in was great.

Yes it was expensive. Amusement Parks are generally expensive. Disney has never been a economical best value kind of place.
I found it to be clean, well run with lots of activities and things to do.
Having access to the Disney transportation system creates lots of options for things to do.
My site was decent , good utilities, and a decent amount of space.
I have certainly had worse campsites.
Hopefully you were there for some sort of Disney experience, otherwise there are much cheaper destinations. If you were there just for a weekend camping experience you made a bad choice.
If you are into Disney and what Disney has to offer you will enjoy yourself.

We just endured the worst hurricane in Florida history. Your visit timing could not be worse. I have seen pictures of the Fort while it was closed due to the storm. I suspect wi-fi is the least of their concerns. I do know several cast members that actually stayed at the parks to help guests instead of evacuating. They never left the property for several days.

Sorry you had a bad time. We will be there at the end of October and only live 25 miles away.

Its just too darn expensive, for what you get. (IMHO) i do understand about the hurricane etc... But they really hype it up, and just don't deliver a experience worth the price.

Such is the nature of Disney World. People either love it or hate it, without a whole lot in between.

We live a couple hours away and haven't been there in several years. Never camped there always use one of the State Parks.

It is your opinion, but it is a highly rated resort for what it's worth. I know it's expensive there and have not camped there since the 90's since it doesn't pay to drag the unit down there for a vacation when a room onsite at the values aren't that much more (especially during free dining) It's a large resort and always busy so that says something.

Agree with the others. DisneyWorld is the experience of the parks; the campground is just a facilitator for a low(er) cost place to stay on Disney property. It's a very nice campground, but you don't go there for the camping.

It would be like going to Las Vegas and just staying in your room.

I agree on Disney Fort Wilderness in general. the sites were small! my 35 ft. TT barley fit in the site. the cable only had a few channels and most of those were to tell you about Disney. yes you aren't suppose to be in the camper all day, but when you get back from a park at night it would be nice to see what`s going on in the outside world (outside of Disney). I can do without Disney.

I`de much rather stay at Cedar Point!

Visited Disney World, last year, for the first time.
It was exactly what I thought it would be, a bigger, more bloated version of Disneyland, which I've been to many times.

Wished I'd skipped it and gone to Universal Studios instead.

BUT absolutely loved Epcot. It was way better than I expected.
And I've been to Europe twice for a total of 3 months.
