Fort Wilderness largest sites?

Due to our normal Grand Gathering we only request a loop and tell everyone to get their reservation in ASAP. This pretty much gaurentees us all in the same loop and usually in cluster of sites. Though we have had a person an extra site or two away from the main cluster.

when you check in you can request a chart showing the individual sites on each loop. You can check out the site they assign you to and see if it is one you can back in to. If it doesn't work for you they are very accommodating looking at an alternative. Do that right at the check in kiosk. Good luck.

Did I miss something? I have reservations at Fort Wilderness and was told that I can not reserve a site. I have a Preferred site and I did request a loop and was allowed to request a location near the buss stop. My understanding is that at check in they ask the size of your unit then assign a site.

I have watched my friend each year pull his 38' montana in without problem even in what I would consider next to impossible. Sure it took some movement to get it set as he wanted, but first he backed into the site aiming for center, then pulled forward and worked the trailer over to drivers left towards the power and water rather quickly.

I just moved from the bus to the 5er, I will be arrive there after dark, so my fingers are crossed I get an easy site back into. Otehrwise, ill take my time.

JamesBr. I need a site like that on a curve. With a 43 foot Toy Hauler plus another 20 feet or more of truck I need plenty of manuevering room. I see some of the sites as you enter or exit the loop are easier to get into. Last time I was there I was in the 600 loop and my site was on a curve but on the wrong side. It took me forever to manage it into the site.

Premium loops are the largest pads, as for getting into the site, that is luck of the draw on the loop location as for as ingress/egress. But I found that most are fine as long as your neighbor across the way (if you have one) has parked in their site and not straddling the loop road.

Out of all the times and loops I have been there, I think the 1400 loop location (could not get a preferred or premium site) was the hardest to get into, but I still managed. The 500 and 300 loops sites I got, I have so far I lucked out the site was on a curve making backing in super easy.

Thanks everyone. I found the Fort Fiends app that gives you the size of the sites and the ease of getting into them. I hope it is accurate!!!!!
