Residents of Canada can camp on crown land in Ontario for up to 21 days. In Northern Ontario you will find lots of places. Some areas may be restricted but will be posted.
Non residents can also camp on crown land. There are some restrictions and permits may be required.

If you camp on Crown Land in Northern Ontario, I would suggest that you are well educated about the area you are in and that you have experience in a natural, remote area with dangerous wildlife. Some people still think that a moose is just a big dumb animal and a bear at a dump is not going to attack you.
