In Northern Ontario you will find lots of places. Some areas may be restricted but will be posted.
I always wanted to camp in Northern Ontario on the water so I can wake up and take a nice cool swim. .. . . . . .:R
I really did enjoy my camping trip to Georgia Bay. Very nice but NO swimming.
If you travel far enough north you can have you camp set up as if you were at any beUtiful beach only to turn around and be in boreal forest.
It is too bad you did not get to swim in Georgian Bay. There are many beautiful beaches. Wasaga beach, the longest fresh water beach in the world 14 km or 8.7 miles, beautiful white sand and warm water. Parts of Georgian Bay can be very cold, rocky and strong undertow, making swimming impossible.
