Free or low cost Casino Travel trailer parking in Las Vegas

I just got an invite to attend some sort of electrical device trade show, which is already going on in Las Vegas, NV this week.

Needless to say, the short notice has made just driving there from Los Angeles and getting lodging a bit problematic, so my next line of thought was maybe just get some pointers on where to park my travel trailer at some Casinos for a night or two, move, and then do it again for maybe 2 or 3 nights, then I'd like to head on down from Las Vegas to Quartzsite to see the mineral show going on there also. May as well use the travel trailer if I have it. Where to get water, and dump also would be appreciated.

Any recommendations for accommodating Casinos with good dinners and free or low cost RV parking for a 21 foot self contained travel trailer for the wife and I?

  • The cheapest place to stay is the campground at Main Street Station I think that it's around $18.00 a night. It's basically a parking lot with hookups but it's convenient to Fremont Street and downtown Vegas. Main Street's buffet is pretty good. The website doesn't mention the campground - call the hotel to make reservations. It's a short drive to the strip and convention center.

If you want a little more natural setting Las Vegas Bay Campground in Lake Mead NRA is really nice but farther away.
  • After reading your 1 thru 4 list, except for #2, I can't imagine why you're going at all.

Freebee camping in LV is pretty difficult, but last I looked Main Street RV park is only $16 per.
  • 1. I don't gamble. Never have, never will.

    2. I'm fine with paying for meals. Nice ones.

    3. No desire to see shows. Probably be dead tired after looking all day to have the energy to even want to go to a show. Happens to be a lot of sick people with the cold or the flu that's going around at these shindigs, from all over the USA, heck, maybe even North America.

    4. I am not a "gadget" freak, unless, perhaps it relates to mountain biking, fly fishing or RV'ing or camping. I've had offers for the past 10 years, every year, to go to this show. Ain't no big thing, at least to me. That it's last moment makes the logistics harder to pull off.
  • CES is on every gadget freaks bucket list. This where all the new cool cell phone, LCD, GPS, audio, home theater, etc..., etc... are debuted. I would go in a heartbeat!
  • What you are looking for has pretty much gone the way of the Dodo bird. Shortly after people realized you could go to Vegas, eat on the cheap, see shows on the cheap, stay on the cheap and NOT gamble, the casinos took steps to shut that all down. Now, there are no cheap eats or cheap shows, at least at the decent casinos. To get the goodies, you have to gamble, and gamble large. You can still find good room rates (compared to other destinations), but don't expect any freebies.

Really, wow? CES The Consumer Electronics Show is one of the largest trade shows anywhere in the world. Assuming that's it of course.

Check into the Circus Circus web site have heard it's RV parking is decent.

Yeah, I think that's it, the Consumer show. Las Vegas has never been on my "to do" list unless I consider seeing it in the rear view mirror on I-15 to go to somewhere else nice with mountains and good fly fishing or mtn bike riding, like Yellowstone or Crested Butte, CO. I've only had the travel trailer 13 months, lots and lots to learn.

Was also thinking Wal Mart, and my friend saying something about a monorail to get down town. I know nothing about Las Vegas, really feel out of the loop on the logistics on this adventure.
