Galveston TX area parks

Looking for a park on / close to the water in mid to late January. Is the Galeston SP of value? Do you have good recommendation based upon your experience?

Thanks

  • We are now at Sandpiper RV Resort and this is our second time. Right on Seawall Blvd, close to shopping and restaurants.

We stayed at Dellanera back in October and would recommend it. Close to the beach...easy back into town and very nice people to deal with.
  • Dellenera is nice. Right on the beach at the west end of the seawall. Sandpiper is very nice and a bit pricey. Right on the east end of the seawall. There is a park on Offats Bayou in town. Don't remember the name. It has some fulltimers in it. Decent but nothing special. Galveston Island State Park about 6 miles out. Haven't been there since the hurricane and then Jamaica Beach RV park just past GISP. Have never been but heard its nice. That's about it for the immediate Galveston area

  • We usually camp on the beach at Crystal Beach. Galveston county allows dry beach camping for $10.00 PER YEAR> every 10 days or so we go to Sand Dollar RV resort for a day and do laundry, dump, refill. Nice bar restaurant across the street. FREE ferry ride to Galveston (BIG FERRY) while we watch dolphins etc.
    Pretty good shelling on beach

Look at http://crystalbeach.com/ for more info

    PM me for more info

I do take my 27 foot Class a on the beach without problem. Sand is a very hard pack
  • Very nice if you can get in the Ocean Front loop - the area on the other side of the highway not so much unless you can get one of the few sites on the bay.
It is really quite south of town
