- SpleenstomperExplorerCan you see mountains from Pine Mountain RV park?
Twin Creek is at the base of the mountain, right?
I want to sit at My RV and see mountains! :D - SpleenstomperExplorerI've called twin creek twice over the last 2 weeks and as far as I know they haven't called me back even though their message says they will call back within 48 hours.
We may have to try other suggestions in this post.
Thanks! - dybExplorerTwin Creek. Trolley stop is at the entrance of CG. Also they rent auto if you don't want to drive your TV around Gatlinburg. It is very near major stores and 2 miles from downtown.

We have "done" Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for the past 7 years for Thanksgiving and we always stay at Pine Mtn RV Park in PF. We have stayed at Twin Creek in Gatlinburg and many more of the campgrounds in PF, but this is our favorite.
Most all of the campgrounds have trolley service, so that is not really a consideration.
It is a newer park, only being there for about 7-8 years, so the trees are still growing in the pull-thru sites. The sites next to the creek have mature trees. The owner of the park also owns the hotel next door, so you have swimming rights at the hotel. There is a good size indoor pool and large hot tub. After a day of site-seeing and shopping (if that's for you), that hot tub feels awfully good.
It is a FHU park and there are camping cabins there, as well.
It is located at traffic light #6 and the last one going into Gatlinburg is #10. All the outlets, most of the hotels and many of the restaurants are at the low # lights, so you don't have that much traffic to deal with. The bypass, which goes to the Sugarland Welcome Center, is just past light #10 before you get to Gatlinburg, so you can head up to the mountains without hitting Gatlinburg.
Dollywood is at traffic light #8 and you are fairly close.
The lights at that time of the year are fantastic. There is a trolley that will take you around to see all the lights, but it books up quickly. If you would be interested, book your trip well in advance.
Just my $.02 worth.
Only place we stay now when down there. WE have 3 weekends already booked for this year. CLose to everything, but not on top of everything. - SpleenstomperExplorerWill check out river plantation too, thanks.
- TravlingmanExplorer IIWe always stay at River Plantation. Nice place, big sites. We usually get one of the signature sites in the back.
- SpleenstomperExplorerI emailed twin creek last night, as i didnt see a place on the website to check reservation dates, and they are closed for the season. Waiting for a reply.
- SpleenstomperExplorerHum. Ok thanks. I didnt think about trolley service. Ill check out this one in PF too. We have just always stayed in gatlinburg so its familiar (im talking since i was a kid-- have never stayed in PF).
