Well I'm getting increasingly frustrated with campgrounds. It's sure changed in the last 4 years or so. Looking for a campground in or next to Breckenridge Colorado. The only one I found had a rate of 75.00. I almost dropped the phone. I asked if a room came with it. Ridiculous!!! Does anyone know of a campground close to this area that would take a 26 foot travel trailer and had electric? I'm having a hard time finding one and the state parks never say what size rv's fit. Help!!!
You're probably referring to Tiger Run. They are the only game in town, so to speak. In order to get any sort of hookups and not stay at Tiger Run, you'll need to travel a bit.
There's Heaton Bay at Dillon Reservoir in the White National Forest, which has some electric hookups. It's very popular and fills easily, so getting a reservation may be difficult.
H E R E is more info to check out.
Over in Fairplay, there's Middle Fork RV Park outside of town. There's also a motel in town that has some parking spaces, but it's not much of a park.
H E R E is the website for Middle Fork.
There's a lot of USFS campgrounds in the area, but you won't find hookups. It's a popular area, over in Summit County, but there's not much in the way of commercial campgrounds in the immediate Breck area.
Some of the folks over in that general area may have some additional insight to alternatives. Bottom line though -- you'll have to drive some.
